A Discount Never Meant to be

Chinese New Year is nearing...  time to do some light shopping first.

Went to Tesco on the last day of the year 2010.  Yup, to do a bit of shopping for the CNY and also Back To School Stuff.

What really attracts me was a discount never meant to be.    As you can see clearly, the Nestle Honey Star/Koko Crunch 300g before discount was RM  9.89... and was price was clearly slashed.  The latest pricing given is also RM 9.89.

Reviewing back what my primary teacher taught us.  RM 9.89 minus RM 9.89 would give us 0% discount...so whats the big deal with the Fa Chi Great Deals ?

Can we trust a BANK !!

We give our faith and fullest trust to a bank....
putting in our hard earned money for safekeeping and also for it to slowly grow.

But what happened if the seed did not grow but rot ?

What IF..... a bank make a mistake !
If the mistake is for our benefit, I am definitely sure that we will keep quiet...shhh..how come my bank account suddenly so many zeros behind ! Nah... the chances is one of a trillion i think.

But what if, we cash out money from the bank but the ATM slip shows the different balance amount ?

Remember, my previous post was regarding Giant Hypermarket and also to check the bill before leaving the hypermarket.... now I am doing the same with the bank, BUT....

What did I found out !!.
A MISTAKE and NOT ONCE but TWICE....

Why suddenly the amount is Not Tally with the actual balance ?..

The rest of the banks will show the exact balance amount but why not this bank ?...where does the RM 10.00 went to ?

This is what I am asking... the bank account is not mine, it belongs to my mother and the bank slip case happened twice.  Is this a JOKE ?..must the customer keep on enquiring where the earth the RM 10.00 went to ?

Checking with the tellers, it seems that the amount is correct according to the book ?

So... to all my loyal readers and bloggers out there.... what should we trust ?

Lets get to the point.... why Giant a real Giant Killer....
I went shopping there last Saturday (9 October), and there was a promotion which was available on 8 October to 21 October 2010, which is applicable to ALL participating Giant outlets in Peninsular Malaysia only.

What attracts me was the Purchase with Purchase (PWP) products; Protex (Assorted Variants).

By the way, I am not a vivid user of Protex Shower Cream, but the prices really attracts me, a product which supposed to be RM 14.99, now for only RM 8.99 (RM 6.00 discount).  Happily, I took the one that I would like to try, Protex Propolis; gheez... to moisture my skin ?... no no... this is not Vaseline post contest !!

Walking around the hypermart looking for our needing goods, my wife saw an offer of Julie's Biscuit.  Gladly she took one biscuit can for her grandpa during tea break.

After filling our shopping cart with the weekly/daily use groceries that we need, we headed to the cashier.   And the wonders goes from there....

This is what we get in our bill.....

1. 4800640 Protex Propolis  ( RM 14.99 )

     -- we bought over RM 70 worth of goods, thus if minus off the RM 14.99, we are still entitled to the PWP products... where is the discount ?

2. 1230257 Julie Assorted Biscuit   ( RM 12.79 )  

     -- where is the LOWEST PRICE as per the promotion written in red

Heading to the customer service, we argued and claimed back RM 7.80.  After getting the money back, I did not see anything done with the computer system or prices, so the next target who is STUPID enough will buy the wrong price, all thanks to Giant !  By the way, this is NOT the first time but freaking more than my 5 fingers and wasting accumulated about more than 1 hour altogether.  Is this the way GIANT treats their customer... I think if there is a wrong price, Giant should just give it free to the customer, and not causing them inconvenience and waste of time arguing and searching for the correct price. 

My case can consider a small amount, what about this ??..

Have you ever bought a Cornflake with the price of RM 89.99 !!
Gheez... the actual price was RM 5.99, a huge profit of RM 84.00  ( hope my mathematical calculation is not wrong.... a profit of one thousand four houndred percent (1400 %) ).  Who doesn't want to open a hypermart with such a huge profit.

To all my loyal readers and bloggers out there.... after making a purchase, please check the bill before you leave the hypermarket especially at Giant Hypermarket Muar.
